Dr. Erica Gamble AKA The Wig. Dr. had a passion for wigs at an early age. Born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and always witnessing Grandmother "Bessie" Aunt "Bea" and mother "Rosa" snatched up in fashion and powerful wigs which I call "hair hats" lead to the Wig Dr's. inception. " Hair is an accessory and I believe it is important for a woman to look and feel her best each day and it all starts with prayer and "good hair". Having an earned Doctorate Degree in Organizational Behavior and Leadership coupled with over 20 years of Leadership and Higher Education success brought me to my passion.
The Wig Dr. specializes in quality wigs and hair pieces for men, women and children. We provide solutions for hair loss due to chemotherapy, alopecia, and other auto immune disorders. We carry human hair, synthetic hair and blended hair wigs and toppers. If there is a particular wig that you have in mind our wig specialist will work with and for you to create the vision. We provide wig wash and repair services.

Does the Wig Dr. have a return policy or exchange policy on wigs?Customer satisfaction is our top priority. All of the items we sell are new. Therefore to maintain our excellent standards and service, every item that is in our inventory is carefully examined before accepting. We charge a 60% restocking fee if the new product is ordered but the client is not happy and it has to be returned to the manufacturer. We will only accept a return if unworn, unaltered and returned within 5 business days of receipt. Items must be in original packaging with all tags attached and odor-free. Items that do not meet these criteria will not be returnable or exchangeable. (This is only for items that have been ordered specifically for the client- not in-store sales) Return shipping is the customer's responsibility. Please package items with care to ensure safe delivery. We cannot accept items back for return that reach us crushed, bent, permanently creased, or otherwise damaged. Shipping fees are nonrefundable If you received free shipping due to a promotion, you must maintain eligibility status for that promotion. Otherwise, standard shipping fees will be deducted from your credit. TIMELINE: Wigs received more than 5 days past the original order date will not be accepted and will be returned to you at your expense. CONDITION: To be eligible for a return, the wig must be in original condition, complete with hair net, the original tag attached, tissue paper, wig box, and any inserts originally included. The wig may not have been brushed, combed, styled, washed, altered, or worn. It must be free from makeup, odors (such as cigarette or cigar smoke), gels, sprays, and other hair care products. PAYMENT METHOD: Credit will be given via the original payment method or account. If you have paid by bank check, gift card, money order, wire, or Venmo we cannot issue cash refunds; Credit will be issued in the form of an in-store credit. DEFECTIVE PRODUCTS: Please open and inspect your items upon receipt of your order. Our quality control measures ensure that your items have been inspected at least three times before they are shipped to you. For this reason, product defects are extremely rare. Defects must be reported within 3 days of receipt. Defective items will be replaced (at no expense to the customer) for the same item ordered. PROCESSING TIME: Please allow 3 weeks for the processing of your refund on a defective item. INSURANCE: To comply with insurance codes, we cannot accept a wig back for exchange or credit after the customer requests and receives a receipt from us for a cranial prosthesis. EXCEPTIONS: Some select wigs (such as clearance wigs) are final sale. These will be very clearly marked in red as "No Returns" in the product description. ONE-TIME FREE EXCHANGE: No fee is charged if you return your wig for store credit towards another wig. This must be done within 3 days of purchase. Store credits cannot be refunded to a credit or debit card. Wigs may be exchanged one time with no fees shipping costs are the customer's responsibility. The second exchange is subject to a 50% restocking fee. The third wig is a final sale. CONSULTATIONS: We do not recommend ordering multiple wigs with the intention of keeping only one of them. If you are unsure of your selection, we recommend utilizing our wig consultation service to avoid unnecessary returns and shipping expenses. When should a person book a consultation?If you a new to wigs or to losing hair due to alopecia, chemotherapy, medication, etc.. we recommend the you book a consultation. We do not recommend ordering multiple wigs with the intention of keeping only one of them. If you are unsure of your selection, we recommend utilizing our wig consultation service to avoid unnecessary returns and shipping expenses. Also if you are experiencing hair loss for any reason and would like recommendations we suggest and recommend booking a consultation. There is no quick way to understand hair loss and each appointment takes a minimum of one hour. Our experienced professionals would be happy to assist you with your selection. How should I take care of my own hair before wearing a wig?Before you commit to wearing a wig or hair extension, be sure that your natural hair is in its best shape. You should properly wash and condition your hair, trim your ends, and perhaps braid it to put in it the best protective form ever. I recommend that you wash and condition your natural hair at least weekly for the best results. Consult with us or a stylist for the best results.
Why should I wear a wig versus a hair weave?Wigs are a very popular and safe alternative over extensions because of their versatility and ease. Many people will opt to have a human hair full wig sewn in because it will last, provides less stress on the hair, it's cost effective and you can change it as often as you like. In addition, wigs can either be sewn on or just worn daily. This provides a great opportunity to change up and look different.
How do I heat-style Human Hair?We recommend heat styling in a dry condition. Take small controllable sections and apply your professional grade heat styling tool using a max heat of 350°F. Allow hair to cool completely to lock in the style. If adding curls, be sure to clip the curl in place and then, allow it to cool before releasing the clips. We recommend using a heat protection spray such as BeautiMark 3-in-1 Miracle Protect.
How should I cleanse and condition my wigs and hair pieces?To keep your wearable hair in tip top shape, you must use specially formulated hair care product designed to accommodate whichever fiber you are wearing or working with. There is no need to cleanse daily, but there are other steps necessary before or after each wear.
What are the benefits of Human Hair?Human hair styles offer great benefits such as the most natural appearance and movement, luxurious texture, cool breathability, style versatility, longevity, and in some cases the ability to color customize.
What is blended hair?Exclusively from a variety of vendors this unique blend of 70% heat-friendly fiber and 30% human hair that withstand temperatures up to 180°C or 356°F. Every silky strand of this human hair blend is hand tied into the softest, lightest head-hugging cap material for a cool, comfortable fit on even the most sensitive scalp. And at about 1/3 the price of more costly 100% human hair products. There are other wig types and fibers that we consider blending hair which again is a mixture of synthetic and human hair. Some of these wig types or vendors do not disclose this information however, we are the experts and we know what is blended and what is 100% human hair. Ask us......
How long will a Human Hair wig last?Depending on lifestyle, frequency of wear, and care maintenance, Human Hair styles typically last 12 months.
How should I handle styling my wigs?One of the greatest benefits of synthetic wigs is that they require very little maintenance and do not have to be restyled after every wash. With synthetic hair you’ll want to steer clear of intense heat -- even a short burst of heat from an oven can cause irreparable fiber damage. If style versatility or daily styling routine is something you enjoy, human hair or heat-friendly synthetic hair is the way to go.
How do I cleanse Human Hair styles and how often?We recommend cleansing your Human Hair styles every 6-8 wears. Rinse under lukewarm running water (do not submerge in a bowl or basin). Gently cleanse the fiber with the proper Hydrating Shampoo in a smooth downward motion and then rinse. Apply an Intensive Recovery Conditioner to the ends and allow to sit for 2-3 minutes. Rinse with warm water, gently towel blot dry, and place on a wig stand to dry. We sell the products in our stores.
How should I manage my hair extensions?Human hair extensions need to be washed regularly but perhaps not as frequently as our own hair; wash only when they start to look dull and lifeless. Use good quality shampoo and conditioning products. These can be purchased from us. Wash and condition the hair in one direction, from top to bottom. Avoid washing hair upside down in the sink or scrunching on top of your head.
How long does shipping usually take?Shipping generally takes 3-5 business days depending on the State that the product is being shipped to and the day the product is shipped. Please note that we do NOT have control over shippers I.e (Fed-Ex, UPS, USPS) We do have overnight shipping available- just let us know!
